There are many types of pies which can be made sweet or savory. Most American house holds enjoy their pie during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday.
Chicken pot pie is simple to make and can be preprepared a day in advance if needed. All you need is 2 pie crust (1 for the bottom/1 for the top), 3 chicken breast cubed, vegetable of choice, and a tasteful white cream sauce.
Create your own white sauce in as little as 5 minutes. All you need is milk, flour, salt and pepper. You may add other seasoning of your choice, like herbs and cheese. When putting your ingredients together, I recommend not putting the flour into the sauce pan with the rest of the ingredient right away. It will be hard to get rid of the lumps. Instead, set aside 3/4 cup of the milk and mix in the flour until there is no flour lumps present. Once it meets your standards then pour it into the sauce pan with the rest of the ingredients. Slowly stir everything together at medium heat.
Once your sauce is done, mix in the cooked chicken and vegetables. Pour your mixture into the pie crust and place it the oven at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until your pie crust top looks golden. After it is done, let it sit for about 5 minutes. Serve and enjoy.
